Delete Files Now is a plugin for the Contextual Menu Manager in MacOS 8. Once installed, if you control click on any file or selection of files in the Finder, you will get an extra menu item in the contextual popup menu that says either Delete File Now or Delete Selection Now. Choosing this item will cause the file or files to be immediately deleted. This is handy if you, say, want to delete more than one file with the same name. Currently, you cannot move multiple files with the same name to the trash at once. It has to be done in separate operations. Now you can just delete them all at once.
Warning - The selected files and folders are immediately deleted and you cannot undo this. Only use this if you know you don't want the selected files.
Version 1.2 adds the ability to delete folders. This makes it possible to get rid of a folder and all of the files and folders inside of it. Please be careful when using this.
Version 1.2.1 fixes a bug that would Prevent files inside of folders from being deleted.
Cost - Delete Items Now is free. If you use it and like it, you can send me a note and let me know. It can be included on CD-Roms as long as I am sent a copy of the disk. Please e-Mail me for the address to send the disk to.
Installation - Unstuff the archive and drag the file Delete Files Now onto your System Folder icon. It should ask you if you want the item to be moved to the Contextual Menu Items folder. Click OK and then restart. You should be all set.
